Paralyzed Kitten Photo

If you read the post below this one, you'll know what I'm talking about. This little kitten I believe is paralyzed from the waist down. We just realized it. He's about 3 weeks old...so it's only just become apparent. I think he was probably born this way. As you can see, his upper body strength seems fine. We have 5 kittens.
Just a random pic of our kitties.

  2. aww poor little guy. Does his bowels and bladder seem to work? I wonder if surgery could fix whatever is wrong or at least help.

  3. Yes his bowels and bladder seem to work. I noticed when he pees, it's obviously all over himself. He can't squat so it's just there. I'll figure something out. I plan to get him to a vet soon. They are very young and I don't like taking them away from mom, but I just noticed really yesterday that he wasn't using them at all. They just opened their eyes last week.

  5. Poor thing. I feel so bad for him/her. I used to have pets when I was still single. I own a dog and a few cats. Now I don't have pets in my home because: (1) we don't have space in the house, and (2) my daughter has asthma and is allergic to cat fur/hair. She loves dogs but we only allow her to play with neighbors' dogs and those with breeds that do not shed a lot. :(

  7. I think I found a very good home for your little kitty. A lady I work with and her husband have talked about it and I think they want the poor thing. Give me a call and let me know when they will be ready to give away.

  8. We have a cat that is paralyzed and he has adapted very well. They can have a good quality of life usually. Are you going to keep him or it looks like you may have found a home!! I am interested to know how this will all turn out:)

  9. Yeah there is someone who is interested in him. I think they'll be ready to go to their homes soon....so hopefully he'll get a lot of love and good care from a person with a big heart. Seems one leg is now shorter than the other. I think he may need surgery to repair it. Perhaps a defect or an injury? I am not sure.

  11. Hi! I would really like to know how things turned out for the little kitten! 4 days ago my kids found 3 abandoned or orphaned kittens behind our shed. we left them there for a day to see if the mother was coming back, but the poor little things were so hungry and the were crying and covered in fleas, so i took them in the house and gave them a bath, and tried to get them to eat. I ended up taking them to pet smart, and asking the receptionist at the vet desk how old she thought they were and what to feed them. Of course they are so cute everyone in the office wanted to come out and see them. The 2 vets there guessed they are about 3 weeks, so we are feeding them kitten formula, and introducing soft canned food. I've never done this before so any advice you have would be helpful....

One of the kittens is paralyzed like yours. he seems to get around really well, and on quick inspection, the vet said he seemed fine, and just to make an appointment for the whole bunch...

can you tell me more about how you cared for your kitten?

Also, i've been stimulating their bottoms as the mother would have, to help them poo... but today i notice, Scooter (the paralyzed one) must be constipated. I ran warm water over his bottom, and stimulated... it seemed to be working before, but now his bottom is bulging, and the poo won't come out. i think its too big....

plz any advice would be helpful, i really don't have the money for costly vet expenses right now, as i certainly didn't plan on finding kittens in my yard.

i'll check back on the feed or you could email me at MzBehavn78@ymail.com
or find me on face book

I really would appreciate any help...
