Fortune Cookie Comments?

These past few weeks I have noticed some comments I get on this blog leave me a little confused. I think someone is leaving words of wisdom on my posts and not direct responses to what I post. If you post "You can heal your life" on a post about too much homework, well....I really don't get that. I hesitate approving that comment. Just what are you talking about? I have gotten a few lately. Sometimes they don't match what I write at all. I have decided to call them fortune cookie comments since they are more like your thought for the day rather than a reply to what I write.

By the way, I prefer you to actually READ what I write. If not? Please, just don't comment with spam or something to promote what you're selling. Anyway, after a series of comments that resembled a fortune I had to say something. Do you get these too on your blogs?

  1. I think some people write spam comments just to link back to their profile or blog. Comments on my blog are moderated, and I don't approve comments like that that make no sense...

  2. hi, i do have to agree and i do wonder if some people actually do read and digest the post! as i dont get totally unrelated but certainly some things wouldnt be said if they had actually read and took in what i had actually posted. to have a response is nice but i would like it if they took a bit more of what i had said in!

  3. I get them too, I think they just cut and paste a generic comment to leave at lots of blogs for backlinks.

  4. Hi! I get strange comments on my blog from time to time. I usually leave them, as they are sometimes like "easter eggs" - I was once interviewed by BBC when a researcher found my blog through a SPAM comment! Go figure! I've blogged my heart out on a variety of topics and issues, but get found thanks to a spamster! "Blessings may come in strange packages" (I just made that one up!!!!) ;)

  5. If you have sex with a guy that has cancer and you get pregnant, the cancer can't be passed on to you or your baby, right?
