It really does feel good to be done with this semester. I am doing a Basic Life Support Class next. That is August 15th and only that day from 8 to 4. I'll be CPR certified after that. I always felt I needed to do that anyway. I have four kids. I think it's a good class for anyone to take! Check your local colleges. It's a one day class and it's a Saturday. At least here it is and I bet it will be at other places too. I'll feel like I can better handle an emergency situation after having this ability. Now I was a lifeguard when I was 16 and back then I was CPR certified. Honestly though I had taken it in my high school and I have forgotten most of it. Most of what I have forgotten is the child and infant CPR. It's so much different.
I do hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's a bit gloomy here but I want to get out and do something. I am free of homework! I will have final grades posted Monday. I have my math grade but am waiting on that Psychology grade. Here is what I wonder. I made honor roll at my former college. I don't know if they even do that for summer classes but oh wouldn't that be nice? haha

I Took My Math Final Last Night
To get in an A in the class I had to get at least 133 points out of 150 on my final. Well I went to the college website today thinking maybe the teacher had posted grades. I already had an A in this class but it was right on the border so this test was important. I have had an A in each math class I took. This was by far the most difficult. So I really studied and hoped for the best. This is what met my eyes today.
I am so happy. I got tears in my eyes. This was my first class after the cancer so I am really really happy. I felt like I had chemo brain during some of it!! Regardless now I just need to do my Psychology final tonight and then maybe soon I can post another A there!!! haha
The only problem is I desperately want to know if I got an A or a B on this final!!! I hope she sends those grades to us.

My Color and A Not So Hot Summer
I did a little quiz that I found on Melissas Homeschool Blog. She's a regular read of mine. You should check it out. Here are my results:
Try it yourself. It's not too long. I have to say with my dad being sick this summer and all that still being so uncertain and my neighbor's son dying this week among so many other things I am feeling a bit down today. My daughter Mikayla is drinking this huge container of some horrible medicine to try and clear her out if you know what I mean. She is seeing the GI doc and we are hoping to get this whole thing with her taken care of. I have other personal things going on in my life and any given day I may just be feeling bummed. It all adds up. Today is a bummed day! I need to cheer up and honestly sometimes it seems practically impossible. We all get overwhelmed. I have to study for my finals.
Oh and you know for you Entrecarders out there can I ask a question? Do you comment and participate on every single blog you advertise on? I know I do not. I joined Entrecard to help others promote their blogs and to promote my own. I drop as many cards as I can though I used to always drop 300 on each blog every day. I don't have this time anymore. Regardless I can say without any doubt many who advertise on my blog do not comment and I do not care. I think you should comment and participate only if you feel the need to. I don't want a bunch of forced comments but rather true interest and really I started this blog to share my story. My point is there are some blogs I read but do not feel I have much to say in a comment. I was recently denied an advertisement by one of these sites that I DO read and visit on occasion because I do not comment or contribute. I just want to say that I will now never read, comment OR contribute in any way at all to this site. I found it to be rude, mean and wrong. If anything all this site did was ensure they definitely lost at least ONE reader. I wondered if anything similar has happened to other entrecarders? I found it to be shocking to say the least.

You are very perceptive and smart. You are clear and to the point and have a great sense of humor. You are always learning and searching for understanding.

The New Playhouse
The family and I decided to go to an auction yesterday. I haven't done this in a long time and my children really didn't remember one except my oldest who had a faint memory. We had a great time and got a few nice deals. The best thing we came home with however was a playhouse for my girls. We saw it as soon as we pulled up and the girls knew they wanted it. We figured there was no way we'd get it but we did. It's so cute with purple paint and white trim. It has an adorable front porch and three windows. I have wanted one for so long but they can be SO expensive! My girls love it. We had fun cleaning it up yesterday too.

In Memory of BJ
I had a post all ready to go today. But I will put it aside for awhile. My neighbor's 16 year old son has passed away. My daughter Lexi is very good friends with his sister. BJ had a heart condition and had surgery many times but was doing well and had even bought his first car. He was jogging a couple of blocks over and from what I have heard he suffered heart failure or a heart attack. I am not positive and I do not think now is the time to ask. Regardless we are all shocked and very saddened at the loss of this young boy and I know for one it will be so weird to not see him outside. On the outside he was the picture of health. He did yard work with his brother all over this town. I saw him drive up and down this street several times a day. I just want to say he will be missed by all and my heart is breaking for his parents. This post is for you BJ.
*edited to say he was 17. I just read the obituary. He would have been a junior this year at our local high school. This school dealt with a suicide just this past Christmas. This will be very tough on the kids at our school. It's just so awful.
