A Short Scare and a Goofy Baby Girl

Baby girl. You know I write that and she very much IS my baby girl. She still looks like a baby, but technically I don't think she is. Well she'll be two on November 17th. That's the miracle baby's second birthday! She will have to get used to always being my baby girl!

Anyway back to the point of this post. She really is getting big. She seems so smart to me. She has a memory that I don't even think I have! She remembers everything and words you tell her once. She'll remember it later. Obviously only if she wants to but like bananas. I told her what they were once while feeding her one. Today while strolling through the grocery store Gabbi spotted the bananas and started yelling "Nana! Yummy!!! Nana! Yuuummmy?" So of course I bought some.

We get out to the car and I decided to give her a few bites and have a few myself. So she took a few bites and I kept reminding her to chew. She is so bad about wanting to just swallow. Of course she did and began to gag. I of course got nervous and had to pat her on the back a couple of times. It wasn't really serious just coughing for about 4 seconds. That's enough to make any mom pause and worry. Well she coughed it up and immediately, literally no breath in between motioned for the banana and screamed "Nana!!! YUMMY!!!"

"Sigh". Mom panics.....baby wants more banana. Typical.

  1. Well, it's kind of cute too. I think I was scared about one thing or another while raising my son. I think it just comes with the territory. This had a very happy ending though. What a cute response she gave too.

    Have a terrific day. :)

  2. Hmmmm. That's life with kids, they scare the heck out of you and before you can catch your breath they go out and do it again. Tell me again why we love them so much? :)

  3. Your baby girl is so cute!! It's scary to see the baby to cough while feeding, right? I'm always afraid my baby boy gets choke when he coughs. And he loves banana too! ;-) He is just 6 months and 2 weeks old, i look forward to the day that he can talk like your lovely daughter.

    "Yummy..nana!" haha...that's so cute!!!!

    Have a nice day,

  7. Very true. What panics us the most is exactly what they want. I think they recognize the panic and like it.
